Ministry of Energy and  Public Establishment for Transmission and Distribution of Electricity (PETDE)

As part of efforts to enhance the stability of the electrical grid and develop the energy sector in Syria, the Public Establishment for Transmission and Distribution of Electricity has signed a contract with the Syrian-Turkish Energy Company (STE) to establish a 100-megawatt solar power generation station in the Kafr Buhum area of Hama Governorate.
The General Director of the Establishment, Engineer Khaled Abu Di, explained that the project will utilize clean renewable energy technologies through the use of photovoltaic panels.

The station will be connected to the high-voltage network at 230 kV.

He emphasized that the project will contribute in  increasing the amount of energy produced, which will positively impact the improvement of electrical supply and reduction of outage hours.
Eng. Abu Di clarified that the implementation and preparation of the station is estimated to take 12 months, after which it will enter service at its full capacity of 100 megawatts.

He pointed out that the agreement resulted from several months of work, including the study of submitted proposals and the selection of the most suitable one based on efficiency and economic feasibility criteria.
For his part, the Director of STE, Mr. Diaa Mustafa Qaddour, stressed the importance of the project in supplying the national grid with clean and sustainable energy, affirming that this step represents a significant contribution to supporting the electricity sector and enhancing the country's energy infrastructure.
