Memoranda of Understanding and Power Purchase Agreement Signed for Renewable Energy Projects in Syria.

The Public Establishment for Electricity Transmission and Distribution has signed memoranda of understanding with the Saudi companies Al-Harfi and Sakalko to implement photovoltaic and wind energy projects with a total capacity of up to 500 megawatts.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Energy for Electricity Affairs, Eng. Omar Shaqrouq, and the Saudi Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy for Renewable Energy Affairs, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Khaled Al-Youssef. In a parallel agreement, the Establishment signed a power purchase agreement with the Syrian-Turkish company STE to buy 100 megawatts of electricity generated from solar power.
