Engineer Omar Shakrouq was appointed as Assistant Minister of Energy

for Electricity Affairs by Presidential Decree No. 32, dated June 1, 2025

Engineer Shakrouq previously served as the Minister of Electricity in the Rescue Government from December 10, 2024, until March 29, 2025. Prior to that, he held multiple key positions within the General Electricity Establishment of the Rescue Government in Idlib, including Director and Assistant General Director..

During his work at the General Electricity Establishment, he played a pivotal role in enhancing energy access in the region by signing an agreement in mid-2020 with the private company "Green Energy" to introduce electricity to Idlib

Following this initiative, Engineer Shakrouq  was assigned  as the General Manager of "Green Energy," further contributing to the development of the region's energy infrastructure
