Public Establishment for Transmission and Distribution of Electricity has signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU)
with the U.S.-based company 20 Solar Energy LLS As part of its efforts to enhance electricity services and promote investment in the renewable energy sector, to develop two solar power generation projects. Under the MoU, the first plant will have a capacity of 100 megawatts (MW) and will operate without battery storage, while the second plant, also with a capacity of 100 MW, will be equipped with energy storage batteries.The exact locations of the two plants will be determined later through coordination between the Syrian establishment and the company. Eng. Khaled Abu De, General Director of Public Establishment, emphasized the importance of this project in supporting the national power grid and reducing dependence on traditional fuel sources.He noted that renewable energy is a national priority, and such initiatives will play a key role in gradually improving the country’s electricity supply. This memorandum reflects Syria’s ongoing efforts to diversify its energy sources and build sustainable partnerships in the field of clean energy
