Syria and ACWA Power Sign Agreement to Develop Comprehensive Energy Strategy until 2040

Damascus, Syria – 26/11/2025

The energy sector today witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Energy, represented by the Public Establishment for Transmission and Distribution of Electricity , and ACWA Power,

with the participation of a specialized consultant.

This agreement marks a significant step towards preparing a comprehensive study on the optimal distribution of energy sources and enhancing the stability of the electrical power system in Syria.

The primary objective of this agreement is to develop an integrated strategic plan for the development of the energy sector up to the year 2040.

This pivotal study will focus on:

• Determining the optimal distribution mix for energy sources.

• Ensuring the secure and effective integration of renewable energy into the national power grid.

• Analysis of vulnerabilities within the existing network.

• Proposing technical solutions aimed at significantly improving reliability and enhancing operational efficiency.
